FAQ

Q: WHY SHOULD I DONATE TO THE OMAHA PARKS FOUNDATION, INC.?

A:. Donate to help create memorable experiences for families, friends, and animals. In private-public partnerships with corporations, foundations, neighborhood associations and other volunteer groups, the Foundation helps support parks and recreation facilities owned by the City of Omaha. The Omaha Parks Foundation operates independently as a private, nonprofit agency registered as a charitable corporation in the State of Nebraska.

Q: WHO CAN DONATE?

Q: CAN I START A PROJECT TO FUND THROUGH OPF?

Q: CAN A NEIGHBORHOOD INITIATE A SPECIAL PROJECT?

A: Yes! We are happy to work with Neighborhood Associations.

Q: AS A FOUNDATION, DOES OPF GIVE MONEY?

A: No. At this time we only pass along the donations, or money we raise to specified projects. OPF Board Members are willing to help Neighborhood Associations in non-financial ways, such as seeking other resources or partnerships. We would very much like to begin a fund to have matching grants for Neighborhood Associations.

Q: HOW DOES OMAHA PARKS FOUNDATION INTERACT WITH THE CITY PARKS DEPARTMENT?

A: Omaha Parks Foundation is completely separate from the city parks department. However, the Omaha Parks Foundation works closely with Parks and Recreation projects. Omaha Parks Foundation is responsive to donors and retains great flexibility to pursue unique projects that although valuable to communities and park-goers, are not presently within the City’s priorities and/or budget resources.
